Experiments on the Seismic Safety of Transmission Infrastructure Conducted at Our University
The initial experiments of an important collaboration between our University's Earthquake and Structural Health Application Research Center and the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEİAŞ) have been successfully completed. In a statement from the Earthquake and Structural Health Application Research Center, it was emphasized that the experiments conducted as part of this project, aimed at determining the dynamic characteristics and structural performance of the 420 kV AT 420 type current transformer through experimental methods, are of great importance for the safety and efficiency of our country's energy transmission systems.
Within the scope of the study, it was aimed to determine the dynamic characteristics of the current transformers used in the TEİAÅž transmission system, such as frequency, mode shape, and damping ratio. In the statement regarding the matter, it was mentioned, "This study plays a critical role in the seismic safety of our country's electrical transmission infrastructure. These analyses, conducted to ensure the safety of current transformers in transformer centers located in seismic zones, contribute significantly to maintaining the continuity of the energy transmission system in the event of a possible earthquake. We will continue to utilize our knowledge and experience in the field of Engineering and Structural Health for projects tailored to the needs of our country. This project will serve as an important reference point for similar studies we conduct in the future. We extend our gratitude to all researchers and our collaborative partner TEİAÅž for their contributions to the success of this project. As Ñ©ÀæÊÓƵ, we will continue to contribute to our country in the fields of science and technology."
